Bookish Ramblings: So many good books coming soon! (and other news)

It’s been a while since I’ve done a general catch up and whilst there hasn’t been a ton going on, there is lots to look forward to coming up!

I’ve been going a little pre-order mad and I’m also trying to support my local high street more but avoiding getting books from the great and powerful Zon. I have found that special editions and signed copies are pretty much always available via Waterstones and I know that I will get a pristine copy, rather than a battered one from the Amazon warehouse.  I’ve been finding they aren’t always much more expensive either.  I had fan art within my copy of A Court of Frost and Starlight, my copy of Legendary will be signed, I’ll be picking up a signed bookplate with Catwoman, Soulstealer, and I have just pre-ordered the follow up to Strange the Dreamer, Muse of Nightmares as a sprayed pages edition – the best part, I get loyalty points so hopefully I’ll then be able to pick up Kingdom of Ash for pretty much peanuts!

In other exciting news, Christina L Rozelle has announced that she will be returning to writing YA with a prequel to the Treemakers Trilogy!  I was giddy with excitement when I saw that in her newsletter, The Treemakers books were in my top reads list last year and with such a rich backstory woven in to them, I’m excited to have that realised in a prequel.

Another favourite of mine is Lydia Sherrer who has recently released Cat Magic, a novella based on Sir Kipling – Lily Singers scene stealing cat companion.  It’s not a full blown Lily Singer novel but hopefully it will be just the fix I need to get me through to the next book – although I missed out on the reduced release day price, thanks to the pointless book buying ban I placed on myself!

In what’s coming up with the blog related news, I’m planning on making June Kindle Month, I will endeavour to try and clear a lot of my kindle TBR in June there is a lot of zompoc on their so it will give me a chance to really get back to the roots of the writing that inspired me to start the blog as I know I’ve been on more of a fantasy kick the last 6 months or so.  I’m also going to be looking to hold more author interviews and guest posts within the second half of the year – after all you probably get bored of my virtual voice at you all the time!  First in the works will be an interview with Teri Polen, who’s book “The Gemini Connection” blew me away at the start of this month.

So there you go, lots of books on the horizon and hopefully exciting things to come.  What pre-orders are you all looking forward to coming out this year?
