It’s Friday which can only mean one thing! Time to catch up with the 5 things I’ve been up to this week. The feature is from Kimberly Faye Reads, so lets do this!
One: New to my Queue
I’m so excited because today I received an ARC of Katie M John’s Vampire Hearts, which is book one in an amazing sounding series, Bathory Academy! I was so happy to have been asked to be an advanced reader for this book which releases on the 18th! Check out the blurb and you’ll get why I’m so excited!
The Bathory Academy series by internationally bestselling and award winning Young Adult author, Katie M. John, promises you a darkling romantic adventure that lovers of Twilight, Vampire Academy, Vampire Girl, and A Shade of Vampire will fall in love with.
HE’S A NEWLY EMERGED VAMPIRE. SHE’S THE DESCENDANT OF THE MOST PREDATORY VAMPIRESS IN HISTORY. WILL THEY BE EACH OTHER’S SAVIOUR OR DOWNFALL?
Alexander Augustine’s secret has been revealed. He nearly killed a human girl. Now there’s no choice but to run, and there’s only one place to go…
Bathory Academy, home to the next generation some of the world’s most notorious vampire families, is a college like no other. It offers Alexander both sanctuary and a very different kind of education; a place where he can truly be.
As Alexander begins to slowly accept his supernatural life, and all the needs that go with it, he is drawn towards the beautiful, but potentially deadly, Scarlett Bathory, soon discovering their history is as tightly knotted as their present.
With revolution, bloodlust, and desire for vampire world domination taking hold, Alexander starts to fear he’s nothing but a pawn in a very dangerous game.
Enter the world of Bathory Academy and find yourself enchanted under the spell of the vampire.
Two: My favourite book(s) this week
I have to make a confession here, whilst I am currently reading 2 books I have yet to actually finish one this week 😦 In fairness to me I am currently reading Winter by Marissa Meyer which is 820 pages long! I’m hoping to get this finished tonight though with only 150 pages left so I can get Started on Vampire Hearts! It’s amazing so far though and I had to force myself to put it down last night. I’m also halfway through book 5 of the Mud, Rocks and Trees series by R.A. Denny which is equally unputdownable!
Three: When I wasn’t Reading
I’m still very much in the time sink of Ni No Kuni 2, there is seriously so much to do in this game. I have been caught up in side quests and building up my kingdom as well as trying to get my head round campaign mode! I’ve been trying to cut back on too many purchases but I did pick up some wonderful Sailor Moon inspired soap and Halloween bath salts from Geeky Clean, these were dispatched today and I can’t wait for them to arrive, I love their stuff so much! Oh and in a horribly adulting kind of way, we have started to clear out our attic space!
Four: Pic of the Week
This week I got the most fantastic bookmail! I’m always getting fed up with the fact that The Lunar Chronicles get’s left behind in book box fandoms – I have been getting them for 10 months and have yet to have a single item based on the series. I decided to take matters into my own hands and picked up this amazing bookmark set from Wizarding Letters! They are really amazing quality and love the quotes chosen, they came beautifully packaged too, I’ll definitely be getting more stuff from them!
Five: Looking Ahead
Reading wise, I’m going to be reading Vampire Hearts and maybe Siege and Storm if I get time. I’m going to book formatting as well as the muggle job so finding time for anything over those 2 jobs is going to be tough. I love formatting books though and I’m working with an amazing client next week. I’m going to try and get a week of bookstagram snapped at the weekend as long as the sunshine is with me so I can keep up the momentum I have there at the moment *whispers* i’ve broken into 700 followers and I’m so chuffed!!
