It’s Friday which means it must be Five Things Friday again!
- New to my Queue:
I’ve been drunk buying books again! Last week I was chatting with Author M.A. Phipps about some of her favourite reads and she mentioned Sabriel by Garth Nix. This was a new one for me and I felt that I just had to check it out! However, I made the mistake (drunk, remember) of ordering a second hand hardback from World of Books – it alleged it was “very good” condition. Needless to say my idea of very good and theirs differs wildly. However, the state of the outside won’t impact on the inside, so I’m looking forward to reading this one!
2. Favourite book(s) this week
After not finishing a single book last week, I managed to finish 3 this week and am halfway through 2 more! I need to be more consistent. As expected I absolutely adored Winter by Marissa Meyer, it was really emotional and such an amazing end to the series. I’m not sure if I want to move on to the novella’s or read Levana’s story – I kind of want to keep on hating her. I also really loved Vampire Hearts by Katie M John, I mean – read in one sitting – loved, totally different from my normal reads and I’m so glad I checked it out.
3. When I wasn’t reading
Lots has been going on this week! The first and best news is that I was selected by Geeky Clean to rep for them this quarter. I’m blown away to have been picked and I’m so excited to feature even more of their products on my Instagram. Although my rep period is October to December, I’m told that my rep code is already live so if you want to save 10% on their geeky goodies you can do so by entering Postapoca10 at checkout! Other fab news is that after a bit of a campaign, Evermore (the follow up to Everless) by Sara Holland is going to be released in hardback. I was so saddened when BKMRK said at #yalc that they were unlikely to do hardback release – now my bookshelf will match! I finally this week picked up the Hunger Games Trilogy with the beautiful foil covers which I had been after for ages, they were only £8 for the set in The Works, sadly the covers aren’t as pristine as I was hoping (they were behind a card cover) but they are still amazing. I was hoping to pick up another set which was alas all sold out.
3. Pic of the Week
I had my most successful bookstagram pic ever this week with 160 likes! Having finished the Lunar Chronicles I couldn’t wait to snap a pic with all 4 books together, especially as I had also received the amazing Wizarding Letters bookmarks last week too!
5. Looking ahead
I’m hopeful that this week I’ll get my September fairyloot as for the first time in months it’s featuring fandoms that I actually know and love; I’m hoping I will fall in love with fairyloot again this month. I just don’t want to be in the last batch to ship again as try as I might I just couldn’t avoid spoilers last month – I know people say stay of IG etc but as a blogger I can’t avoid all social media for 2 weeks 😦 I’m also going to try and get a bit further with Ni No Kuni 2 as Red Dead Redemption 2 comes out next month and I get the feeling I won’t get much access to the playstation!
