Bookish Ramblings: Five things Friday

It’s Friday lovely people, you know the drill now!!!

New to my queue:

Some sad news came about in that Lydia Sherrer, Author of the amazing Lily Singer Adventure, lost her beloved cat Gizmo.  The inspiration behind Lily’s snarky cat Sir Kipling.  I straight away downloaded the novella book, Cat Magic (which I had been meaning to do for a while anyway) to catch up on all Sir Kipling’s adventures and in support of the cat that inspired such a great character. I think this will be a read the heads up the top of my queue.

Favourite book(s) of the week

It’s been a slow reading week for me but I have finished book 2 in the Grisha Trilogy, Siege and Storm!  Although it was a 4* (because Alina isn’t really floating my boat) It introduced the wonderful character of Nikolai!  He’s like Kaz Brekker meets Rhysand and certainly a character that I want to read more of! I’ve also got halfway through the final book in the Mud, Rocks and Tree’s series, the tone is very different – almost retrospective, I’m hoping for a big pay off at the end of the series after 6 books!

When I wasn’t reading:

It’s been such a busy week for me with the muggle job and I have also been really formatting in the evening.  It hasn’t left much time for anything else (and explains my poor show for completed books!) I’ve been really suffering with my wrists too with all the additional computer work, but I gave myself a break last night from everything including the blog and IG (sorry) but I feel refreshed for it!

Pic of the week

I’m loving my foil cover editions of the Hunger Games trilogy and now that the autumn nights are starting to draw in I’m looking forward to creating a warmer feel with my pics. These lovely leaves are perfect for getting the autumn feels, I really love how the firefly lights bring out the golden tones too!

Looking ahead

I’m looking forward to getting a big Geeky Clean delivery tomorrow.  I have a ton of bath bombs coming which gives me the perfect reason to treat myself to a lot of relaxing!  It’s exciting being able to rep for a company and I’m already thinking of the pics I can take! Muse of Nightmares comes out on the 2nd too, I have the orange sprayed edges edition on pre-order from Waterstones, I can’t wait to start it!
